#squadgoals – When Women Help Women, We All Succeed

Recent statistics show that while women make up roughly half of the workforce, and 51.1% of management positions in the US, only 4% of the Fortune 500 CEO positions were held by women in a recent survey. What do we do to fix this? Recent evidence shows that when women help other women, all of us become more successful. We’ll talk about the major challenges women still face in the workplace today. We will discuss the Queen Bee syndrome, also known as “women are their own worst enemies,” why this stereotype persists, and what we can do to rid the workplace of it. Finally, we’ll talk about what we as women can do to support other women to achieve our #squadgoals.

Objectives:

  1. Share the major challenges women face in climbing the corporate ladder
  2. Understand what “Queen Bee” syndrome is, why it exists, and what we can do about it.
  3. Discuss what women can do to support other women in overcoming these challenges, avoid becoming a queen bee, and reach our collective #squadgoals
