Biography

Paula Cosby is the Executive Director for Clothes That Work, a nonprofit organization in Dayton, Ohio that provides professional clothing and confidence building coaching and educational services for under resourced job seekers. In this role, Paula provides oversight and management for the organization, setting its direction, establishing policies, managing its staff and resources, and serving as its master steward.

Paula joined Clothes That Work in 2011 as Director of Development before being promoted to her current position in April of 2013. Under her leadership, the organization went through a successful capital expansion campaign, transforming its offices into an upscale service center capable of meeting an increased demand for its services. She has led Clothes That Work through a detailed rebranding campaign, strategic planning to successfully broaden and align its programs, special events, and services to more accurately reflect the organization’s mission and vision. Her vision and direction have elevated the organization to new heights, garnering the Dayton Business Journal’s Not-For-Profit Business of the Year award, and the Better Business Bureau’s Eclipse Integrity Award.

Paula received her Master of Public Administration degree from Wright State University, her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and a certificate in Community Development from Wright State University. She has been honored as an Outstanding Alumni by Wright State University, and Outstanding Nonprofit Leader by the local chapter of the national organization, Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Paula’s commitment to community extends beyond her career and family. She is a member of the Wright State University Alumni Association Board, WSU’s MPA Advisory Board, Montgomery County’s Workforce Investment Board, Miami Valley Housing Opportunities Board and Project READ Advisory Board; and is a member of the Dayton Rotary Club. Paula is a graduate of Leadership Dayton.
