Biography

In her leadership role, Dr. Felder ensures that all students are treated with respect and dignity and that all student services functions are focused on supporting student access and success. Her focus is on providing access to higher education for all students.  She is especially passionate about increasing the number of college graduates from first-generation and low-income backgrounds, which was addressed in her doctoral dissertation.  Dr. Felder believes that education positively impacts the lives of individuals and families for multiple generations.

Dr. Felder is also active in the community and serves or has served on various non-profit Boards including the local Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Advisory Board, the Community Improvement Corporation, and the local Community Action Agency.  Dr. Felder believes in the power of education and she lives the words of Nelson Mandela – “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Prior to this position, she held several other higher education positions.  She was Vice President of Student Affairs, Administrative Dean for Clark State’s largest branch campus, the Academic Affairs Coordinator, a College Access Director, and a Workforce Development Coordinator.
